We’re into photo books at HCP. (Have you seen our library!?) We are especially into self-published photo books. The successful self-published photo book, while more easy to publish than ever, requires some design know-how to create. In this design and layout course students will begin to make the design decisions that will best impact their book’s intended purpose. This class will introduce a workflow for self-publishing that includes image selection, editing, and sequencing. Students will begin to consider their audience as they learn how to enhance the appearance of their photos in the book format, considering such factors as color, typography, book size, and paper types.
What to bring to class:
A series of 10 or more images
Portable storage device
Students taking this class should have a working knowledge of Photoshop and a group of photographs they want to publish.
