Join HCP for an exploration of color and light during this May's 26th annual Art Car Parade, presented by The Orange Show. Born in April, 1988 with 40 cars, today's parade attracts over 250 vehicles from all over the US, Canada and Mexico.
During this lively Photo Safari you will learn to better understand color relationships and themes, using hands-on demonstrations during the parade. With the guidance of HCP's award winning instructors you will be encouraged to create stunning images of the Art Cars and their owners. Meet this exciting group of artists who have traveled to Houston to show off their incredible mobile sculptures.
We will begin the Safari with a 30 minute introduction to color theory in photography. Then on location you will be asked to isolate a color using the available subject matter and recognize color contrast in the environment. You will then use color to tell a story about the your chosen subject. Using the three perimeters of color you will learn to seek out new and vibrant combinations to enhance your images. See what others may have missed and create stunning photographs using your new found skills.
Small class sizes allow instructors to pay individual attention to students while on location. This hands-on Photo Safari will encourage you to seek out new and exciting locations for your photo-shoots as well as enrich your future travel photography.
Sessions are open to photographers of all skill levels.
