Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) is no longer an esoteric piece of software directed to photographers shooting RAW. Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, and Photoshop Lightroom all incorporate Camera Raw. Since ACR now works with jpeg and tiff files as well as various RAW formats, it has become a choice initial file processor for many photographers and represents an easy entry to electronic image processing. We’ll examine the essential differences in file processing and pixel processing and when one may suit better than the other. The course will address white balance, luminosity, contrast and saturation initially, and later deal with presets, black/white conversion, gradients, and other advanced topics.
