with Clay Harmon
May 16, 10am - 5pm
$140 HCP members / $175 non-members
Mix the past with the present in this one-day alternative process workshop!
This introduction into platinum/palladium printing will show students how to turn a digital file into a one-of-a-kind print using a method you can do at home.
In HCP’s Digital Darkroom, participants will create digital negatives from one of their own files. The instructor will demonstrate the Photoshop process for creating a perfect digital negative for palladium printing. The class will then begin the second part of the workshop, learning the print with the digital negative. Students will learn how to mix the chemicals, coat the paper, and properly wash the print after exposure. Print will be exposed outdoors in sunlight, and each participant will leave with a palladium print of their own image.
The class fee covers the cost of materials for creating digital negatives, paper and chemicals for coating/printing, brushes, and use of HCP’s Digital Darkroom.
