HOUSTON, TX – On Saturday, August 14, 2010 from 10 AM to 6 PM, Houston Center for Photography will hosta Master Class on Documentary Photography taught by award winning photographers Stanley Greene and Kadir van Lohuizen. During this workshop students will strengthen their photographic practice by exploring their relationship with their environment, camera, and themselves through group discussion and critique. The workshop will include a discussion on becoming a professional photographer and a presentation of the works produced by NOOR photographers. Students are invited to partake in a group project titled Eyes of Houston, in which they edit and produce a body of work that will present an image of Houston through their multiple points of view. In lieu of the assignment, students can bring their portfolio with 10-15 images for a review session. The class is open to both film and digital photographers, and is appropriate for intermediate and advanced levels.
