Posted on 1/13/12: HCP member Irby Pace would like to announce an upcoming exhibition at the Cora Stafford Gallery called Unintended Consequences by Irby Pace. Unintended Consequences is a photography exhibition that takes images found in Apple computer stores. These portraits are taken anonymously by customers and left behind on iPhones, iPads and iPods. People are offering themselves up to be seen by others as the ideas of privacy are changing in the 21st century. I take the images from the devices and then I pick images to print larger than life-size as well as include them into installations and video projects. The opening/closing reception will be February 9th from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. En Foco joins Aperture in commemorating the bicentennial of Mexico's Independence and the centennial of its revolution with two new exhibitions, which take place simultaneously with Aperture’s "Paul Strand in Mexico," a major exhibition comprised of over a hundred photographic works by Strand. Four pictures from Allen Bryan's Comforts of Home series will be in the Revealing Culture exhibition at the Smithsonian Institution's International Gallery in Washington, DC.
