Houston, TX – Houston Center for Photography (HCP) announces its 2010 Photography Fellowship Competition. Two fellowship recipients will be awarded $2,000 each and a solo exhibition at HCP in the summer of 2010. One Houston-based artist (residing within a 100 mile radius of Houston including Beaumont, Galveston, and College Station areas) will receive the Carol Crow Memorial Fellowship and another artist from anywhere in the world will receive the HCP Fellowship. Brian Clamp, director of ClampArt, will jury the fellowship selection. The juror will  also grant 6 Honorable Mentions, who  will be included in an online exhibition.
 
The Fellowship competition is geared towards the completion and presentation of new work; submissions of work-in-progress are acceptable. The competition is open to all photographic, film/video, and lens-based work, including installation.
 
Juror, Brian Clamp, Owner/Director, Clampart (New York, NY)

Brian Paul Clamp is the owner and director of ClampArt, a gallery in Chelsea specializing in modern and contemporary art with an emphasis on photography. ClampArt mounts ten to fifteen exhibitions per year featuring the work of emerging and mid-career artists. Mr. Clamp opened the gallery in 2000 after completing a Master of Arts degree in Critical Studies in Modern Art at Columbia University. For eight years prior to that Mr. Clamp served as the

director of a gallery on Manhattan’s Upper East Side specializing in
late 19th- and early 20th-century American paintings.
