HCP's programs are made possible by support from members, and in part by government grant agencies, private & public foundations, corporate & individual contributions, and the tireless work of many volunteers and interns dedicated to increasing the understanding and appreciation of photography and its evolving role in contemporary culture.
Volunteers play an essential role in the work we do. From painting and spackling to distribution to serving refreshments at opening receptions, we couldn't do it without you! We regularly look for volunteers for gallery prep, Bayou City Arts Festival, and Annual Print Auction.
HCP annually hosts the Print Auction and Annual Print Sale. We rely on the assistance of numerous volunteers to make these events run smoothly and succesfully.
HCP produces 15-20 on and off-site exhibitions a year. With the close of each exhibition, we rely on our gallery prep volunteers to get the walls ready for the next exhibition.

HCP provides opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to gain practical experience as a volunteer intern in programming, membership, exhibitions, education, library science, publications, and archiving. Internships are unpaid, but course credit can be arranged with the intern’s educational institution.
