Are you feeling creatively blocked and don’t know where to start? Get your creative juices flowing with this FREE online workshop! Presented in collaboration with Precision Camera in Austin, Texas, Houston Center for Photography instructor Kelly Webeck will introduce students to one of HCP’s most popular classes, Collage: Building a Daily Practice. In this workshop, Webeck presents approaches for starting and maintaining a daily collage practice. Students will draw inspiration from the masters of collage, such as Man Ray and Barbara Kruger. Whether you are just getting started or are a seasoned professional, this workshop will motivate you to create collages that spark creative expression and intellectual reflection.
This FREE workshop is provided by Houston Center for Photography, a non-profit gallery, educational space, and publisher in Houston, Texas, in collaboration with Precision Camera, a premier online brick-and-mortar retailer and photo lab based in Austin Texas. Together through our online partnership, we will be bringing you virtual workshops spanning the creative to the technical to ensure you can keep telling your story no matter where you find yourself.

Students who want to build on the work explored in this FREE introduction can continue in HCP’s full class, Collage: Building a Daily Practice. Each class session will focus on a specific artist or period in art history. Students will develop their techniques, and through discussion, will learn to construct narratives by combining imagery through layers. Students will leave this course with a sketchbook full of collages that inspire them for years to come.
