Introduction to Large Format Film Camera Technique

The class will cover the techniques and art of Large Format Photography! Learn how to pre-visualize and capture landscapes, plants, or small details with a large format camera, using 4×5 or 8×10 film. As a long-time large format photographer, your instructor, Laszlo Perlaky, will demonstrate and talk about different types of field and studio cameras, tripods, and other accessories and how we can use those on the fields. Students will explore all the camera parts, lenses, and camera movements on their large format cameras. Students will see the effects of the settings and see how the shutters, apertures, viewfinders work.
