In this class, students will explore collage’s history as a photographic process and be inspired by artists such as Man Ray and Barbara Kruger. Each class will focus on a specific artist or period in art history. Students will develop their techniques, and through discussion, will learn to construct a narrative by combining imagery through layers. Students will discover digital techniques and sharpen their Photoshop skills. Weekly shooting exercises will invite students to think every day about how the world they see can be used and altered to create otherworldly works of art on the computer.
