Join HCP for this short in-person class and get introduced to photography history! This class dives into photography’s journey from its roots to the present day. The 19th century covers the inception of photography: the inventors, processes, rapid growth, the American Civil War, and the post-war years until about 1900. The early 20th century covers Modernism and its photographers between 1900 – 1960. The late 20th century will include the introduction of color photography and the era of contemporary photography until the end of analog around 2000. The last section will cover digital photography in the 21st century, including the expansion of the medium made possible by technological changes.
