Videography I: Learning the Basics

This class is an introduction to the understanding of videography as technology, medium of expression, and creative practice. It covers basic concepts and techniques: camera operation, exposure, framing, camera movement, and basic video editing. In addition, students will look closely at various contemporary video projects as a way to deconstruct visual narrative and experience the pleasure of good moving pictures. Assignments will include both technical and creative exercises.
