Learning Curve
Learning Curve is an annual exhibition of selected work made by HCP’s students from the past year. From digital to alternative processes, the exhibition highlights the various educational programs HCP offers through its Learning Center.
Annual Fellowship Awards
Each year, Houston Center for Photography (HCP) selects an expert writer, critic, or curator to identify two artists who exemplify excellence and innovation in their approaches to new photography and related media.
The Houston Center for Photography Fellowship and the Carol Crow Fellowship Awards aim to highlight each artist’s work and to offer them a platform and the support to continue developing their projects. The two selected artists will each be awarded $3,000, a solo-exhibition at HCP, and a spread in spot magazine.
Center Annual Exhibition
The Center Annual, formerly known as the “Juried Membership Exhibition,” is Houston Center for Photography’s yearly group exhibition that seeks to highlight and provide insight into current themes, technologies, and practices in photography.
Interdisciplinary Craft + Photography Artist Residency
Houston Center for Photography is pleased to partner with Houston Center for Contemporary Craft to offer the Interdisciplinary Craft + Photography Artist Residency, a program designed for artists creating work at the intersection of contemporary craft and photography.
Contemporary Practice
Contemporary Practice is a unique opportunity for undergraduate photography students in Texas that seeks to highlight emerging artists with varied approaches to the medium from educational institutions across the state.
